Snoezel terms of use

Thanks for using Snoezel. Below, in plain language, is what we agree with you.

1. Who we are

Snoezel is provided by IamRoot BV, a Belgian company whose director is Tom Robert.

  • Company number: 0679.521.127 (VAT BE0679.521.127)
  • Registered office: Sint-Gertrudisstraat 3, 3400 Landen, Belgium
  • Email: [email protected]

These terms apply to the Snoezel app (on iPhone, iPad, Android and in the browser) and to the snoezel.app website. If you download Snoezel from the App Store or Google Play, Apple’s or Google’s terms also apply. We are responsible for Snoezel itself, not Apple or Google.

2. What Snoezel is, and what it isn’t

Snoezel helps your family get to bed with a picture-based evening routine, a sleep companion and calm stories read by a warm voice. Snoezel is based on recognised methods from care practice, such as visual schedules and predictable stories.

Snoezel is not therapy and not a medical device. It doesn’t diagnose or treat anything, and it is no substitute for professional support. Snoezel is not a baby monitor either: the app does not watch over your child. Worried about your child’s sleep or development? Talk to your GP or another professional who supports your family.

3. Your account

You create an account as a parent or guardian, and you must be at least 18. Children only use Snoezel through their parent’s account, with a child profile you create. Only create profiles for children you are the parent or guardian of. You decide when and how your child uses the app.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. If you think someone else can get into your account, email us straight away.

4. What does Snoezel cost?

While Snoezel is in development, you can use the app for free. There are no in-app purchases right now, and we don’t ask for payment details.

Later on, there will be a paid subscription for extras. What it includes and what it costs hasn’t been decided yet. Here is what has been decided:

  • We will announce the subscription at least 30 days in advance, in the app and on our website.
  • Nothing happens automatically. You only pay if you actively choose a subscription yourself. Before you choose, you will clearly see the price and the terms, including how to cancel.
  • If you don’t choose a subscription, you don’t need to do anything.
  • We don’t promise that everything that is free now will always stay free. We will decide closer to the time which parts stay free and announce that together with the subscription. If anything changes about what you use for free today, we will also tell you by email.

5. Stories and other content

The stories, pictures, voices and music in Snoezel belong to us or to whoever gave us permission to use them. You may use them at home, with your family. You may not sell them, distribute them publicly or use them for a business.

The stories and the voices are made with the help of AI. If you still hear or see something that doesn’t feel right, let us know. We’ll look at it quickly and remove it if needed.

We may add, change or remove stories and other content. The app privacy notice explains how we make personal audio, reuse it and deliver it through file links. Don’t share such a link with others: anyone who has it can hear the first name.

6. What we ask of you

  • Use Snoezel for yourself and your family.
  • Don’t try to hack the app, overload it or misuse it in any other way.
  • Don’t copy content automatically, for example by scraping.
  • Don’t try to decode or copy the code, except where the law allows it.

If someone misuses Snoezel, we may suspend or close that account. We usually send a warning first. In serious cases, or if others are at risk, we may act straight away. We will always tell you why.

7. Still in development

Snoezel works, but it isn’t finished. There may be bugs, parts may change or briefly stop working, and we can’t promise the app will always be available without interruption. We try to fix problems as quickly as possible. It’s a good idea to keep a book handy for an evening when the app has a hiccup. Your statutory rights always apply.

8. Liability

We are liable as Belgian law provides. We never exclude our liability for intent or gross fault, for harm to anyone’s life or health, or for failing to do what Snoezel essentially promises. Where the law allows, we are not liable for damage caused by force majeure, such as a problem with your internet connection or a major outage at a service provider, or for indirect damage caused by a minor fault.

9. Stopping and deleting your account

You can stop at any time, at no cost and without giving a reason. You delete your account and child profiles in the app, in the parent settings (Delete everything). Can’t get into the app? Follow the steps at snoezel.app/en/delete-account/. Note: uninstalling the app alone does not delete your account.

If we ever shut Snoezel down completely, we will let you know at least 30 days in advance, unless the law or an urgent safety reason forces us to stop sooner.

10. Privacy

The app privacy notice explains how we handle your data and your child’s: snoezel.app/en/app-privacy/. In short: no ads, we don’t sell data, and about your child we only ask what the app needs, never a diagnosis, date of birth, photo or recording.

11. If these terms change

We may update these terms, but only for a good reason: Snoezel changes (for example when the subscription arrives), the law changes, or something needs to be clearer. The version date is always shown at the top.

We announce important changes at least 30 days in advance, in the app and by email. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account free of charge before that date. Small changes, such as a typo or new contact details, may apply straight away. A change to these terms never starts a subscription.

12. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you live in another country, you keep the protection that the mandatory rules of that country give you.

If something isn’t right, email us first and we’ll look for a solution together. If that doesn’t work, you can contact the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (consumentenombudsdienst.be) or go to the court where you live.

13. Contact

Have a question or feedback, or spotted something that isn’t right? Email us at [email protected].
