Choosing a sleep companion
You choose one together. It comes along to bed every evening.
The same steps to bed every evening, in pictures. After each step, your child can press the big button. A sleep companion comes along. At the end a warm voice reads a story in Dutch, or you read it yourself.

Remember? Someone read to you on the edge of your bed, and then the light went out.
Snoezel is just as calm. The pictures barely move, and when the story ends, that’s it.
In the evening it’s just one tap.
You choose one together. It comes along to bed every evening.
You choose the steps. When a step is done, your child can press the big button.
A warm voice reads it in Dutch, male or female. Or you read it yourself with the pictures.
Do two steps with Dobber, or listen to a bit of his story, in Dutch.
Midden op de vijver lag de maan. Rond en geel, in het water. Ook de sterren lagen erin. Dobber dreef er traag naartoe. Nog een klein stukje. Nu lag Dobber midden op de maan. Daar bleef hij liggen. Op de kant glimlachte Noez.

Every story has its own pictures. The stories are in Dutch. More stories will follow.

“One more page. Then I’ll join you.”
Hat on, book in her lap. Soes is making room for one last little story.

“My tail is already a blanket.”
Vonk has been running around all day. Now he curls up. There’s still room beside him.

“Let’s make everything soft tonight.”
Vlokje is in no hurry. There’s nothing left to do tonight.

“I’ll whisper the last little bit.”
Fluis has a little book ready. The big words can wait until tomorrow.

“It’s small and cosy here.”
Schemer finds a quiet corner. The busy day stays outside.

“One little ball, all ready for bed.”
Bolle rolls herself up for the night. A little longer together, then sleep.

“I’m drifting along a little longer.”
Dobber takes his time. He floats on his back a while before he goes to sleep.

“This is a good place to stay.”
Loom is already lying down, paws tucked in and eyes half shut.

And Noez? Our moon bear is there every evening, whichever sleep companion you choose.

Snoezel is meant to be used together with your child. An evening routine in pictures, in the order you set up, and a sleep companion that comes along. There’s also a library of illustrated stories by age group (3–4, 5–6 and 7–8), read by a warm voice. You can pause and resume a story. For stories with audio, the story list shows roughly how many minutes they take. The stories and the voice are made with the help of AI. Once a month there’s also a personal story (in Dutch) in which your child is the hero, using their first name. Because their name has to go in, it can take a little while to be ready.
iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 15 or later, and Android. For now, only on the Belgian App Store and Google Play. The app itself is available in Dutch, French and English. Stories are in Dutch (Flemish) for now, with a male or female voice. There are no French stories yet. During the evening routine, the sleep companion speaks the language of the app.
Yes. In the parent settings there’s ‘Make it calmer’. There you can make the sound softer, keep the stars still, show less text and choose longer pauses. You can also show the whole schedule at once, and have the companion say the same words every evening. You don’t need to tell us anything about your child to use them.
For your account we use your email address, or your Apple or Google sign-in. For your child we keep the first name, age group, interests, chosen voice, language and sleep companion, whether the story says ‘he’ or ‘she’, your evening routine and which personal stories your child has already received. We ask for your consent before a child profile is created. With your account we also keep your app settings and, for each child, which library stories were started the last 50 times, whether they were played to the end and which got a heart. For a story that was started, we keep only the month, no day or time. That way familiar stories come first on all your devices. This is on by default. If you’d rather not, switch off ‘Also on my other devices’ in the parent settings, and we delete it from your account straight away. We use all of this only to make the app work for you, never for advertising. For our own figures we count totals, without names. More detailed usage statistics from the app are only sent if you say yes to them. In the app you can see what we keep, and you can delete everything. The app privacy page explains which services we use and where they process data.
For now, yes. While Snoezel is in development, you don’t pay anything. Later on, there will be a paid subscription for extras. We’ll announce it at least 30 days in advance, and you decide whether you want it. Nothing starts automatically. We’ll also tell you then what stays free. You can read more in our terms of use.
